And I'll wear something flowery

Specifc plans for Floraganza (continued)

3. I will eat flowers on at least 6 occasions.
4. When given a choice, I will use flowery things.
5. I will read flower-themed books and listen to flower-themed music and watch flower-themed movies (suggestions most welcome).
6. At least once a month, I will wear something floral.

If you haven't listened to the "flower duet" from Lakmé ("Sous le dôme épais"), then you have a treat to look forward to. The flower referred to is jasmine.

Take a look at Molly Peacock's The Paper Garden (2010), which is in part about paper flowers. I think you will be interested. Plus the book is quite pretty.

I plan to spend the next week writing about a novel about flowers, but I believe you will enjoy reading about it more than reading it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I look forward to reading about a book that I won't like reading and a jasmine duet is most intriguing.

You might try "Flowers in the Kitchen" by Susan Belsinger. I like it a lot, but I have sentimental attachment to it that has no relation to the quality of the book (my first cookbook, purchased on my first solo road trip as a high schooler, spending spring break on a farm in PA with my sister where she worked as a farm hand).

Thanks Molly. Flowers in the Kitchen was available used for one cent, so I just bought it. That reminds me, unless things change greatly, I will NOT be reading Flowers in the Attic.
