Lek Off Cancelled, Spring Reports Still Wanted

There are no new twins, no film crew, no June 31 and no Lek Off For Love (although prairie chickens do lek).
There is also no snow, no broken ankles, no leeks in the toilet and I did shave 4 minutes off of my 5k time.
I know that come April first it is hard to know what to believe in my e-mails.
I do, definitely, want your spring reports.

No onions or shallots in the toilet either.

Last week I meant to tell you, my observation was that a lot of early bloomers in my area are legumes. Redbud, Mountain Laurel, Wisteria. Bluebonnet should be happening, but I haven't seen it yet. Anyway, I thought this was a nice connection to a previous year's resolution.

Some crocus are blooming, and skunk cabbage is poking through the soil.

Almond and Anna apple trees are done blooming, sapote trees have little clusters of pea sized fruit coming along, macadamia trees are covering everything with pollen, roses that I forced into dormancy in January are back to blooming, grapefruit trees are blooming, irises blooming, snap peas in my garden are just now producing pods but my mother's plants (put in much earlier as seedlings rather than seeds) are long gone,, tomatoes are just starting to produce blossoms but not yet really putting on much growth, CA poppies still going strong as are roadside lupines, redbuds, and what appear to be sunflowers (bushy, with smallish disks). Wisteria done in my yard, but going strong on roadsides. Jasmine and freesia done flowering.
